My home country have higher unemployment despite several years of increasingly better economic growth. There is no solution to the problem.
The problem is also this, the politicians deny the problem!
Our last government (which ruled for over ten years) made recurring announcements that the country now had fixed the unemployment problem. But stats showed another reality. The last government was the social democrats, and they are very tight with the unions. An economist at the leading union wrote a report about unemployment in Sweden, and he showed that unemployment was higher than the official figures! Guess what, he was sacked.
It does not end with this: Sweden, a country with about 9 milion inhabitants, have TWO figures showing DIFFERENT unemployment rates. The argument is that it is not possible to measure unemployment.
One measure shows that unemployment is around 5-6 percent, the other measure shows that over 20 percent is out of work.
Why do politicians deny the obvious?

Sweden is supposed to be a socialistic utopia. To say anything bad about Sweden is considered an act of war to the liberal/socialistic elitists. Sweden has almost gone bankrupt several times because of socialism, but they always seem to bring back free-market reforms which saves them at the last minute. It%26#039;s amazing how many Swedes take their wealth out of Sweden to avoid the oppressive taxation in their own country. But don%26#039;t let these facts leak out, because if you do you%26#039;ll be ostracized, ridiculed and banished.

To expect the truth from the political ruling class in Europe would be like expecting the sun to rise in the west|||Politicians for the most part are liars, greedy and power hungry. You can%26#039;t really trust them, they are just like car salesmen.|||could it be, because we as the electorate allow them to?|||they are afraid that unemployment figures will translate to increased concerns over muslim immigration..
a dynamic that has a measure of contempt building
